Thanks everyone for your kind words and thanks for using these pictures on a bunch of different blogs. I have been thinking a lot about using these sorts of pictures as a platform to start a larger photo project about the environment and environmentalists. I really want to take portraits of head members of organizations like Earth First and then go to things like Whale Wars. Who knows what I’ll end up doing!

i like the idea of tying the holiday dress with the subject of the protest. use of coal, “clean” technology included, and those who finance this program is contentious as we explore the alternatives for powering our society. though i believe all alternatives should be on the table, it appears coal is a lose/lose situation as it costs more energy than it provides and has a negative environmental impact.
