Busy Week

by Administrator

The weather has been amazing and the workload equally daunting so I have been severely slacking on the internet communication sector of my life. Don’t worry I will make it up to you in time!

Here is some of the best stuff I have found on the internet over the past 3 or 4 days.

I have been considering making the dive into a fancy shmancy Graph Paper WordPress Theme. They are so well layed out. I found the company when looking at the Idea of India Blog of Asim Rafiqi. He won the Aftermath Project grant for 2009 and Tufts Exposure will be doing a workshop with him and Sara Terry in India this August. His work is amazing and I am extremely jealous of everyone who gets to go, although its not like I am sad about working in Kenya!

I liked this John Tully shot of  yard sale season.

Zoriah sent me back over to the Battlespace site to see some of their Iraq and Afghanistan imagery.

You have to check out the 4th portrait Ikuru Kuwajima put up.

Sean Flannigan gave insight into photographing the elder Gates.

Everyone should also check out Aina, which has been working for a few years to train a new wave of journalists in Afghanistan.

The Dallas Morning News farewell by Randy Grothe shows just how important the newspaper industry is to so many.

The Year in Pictures showed off the best photographs by anonymous photographers.

All photographers should read the New York Times piece on Danny Lyon, “An Italian shoe company, he said, once paid someone $1,000 to track him down in New Mexico to see if he would do a fashion shoot, to which he agreed mostly because of the company’s tenacity. He paces himself more between the jobs he assigns himself.”

Arian Camilleri has some of the most awe inspiring Holga shots I have ever seen! Make sure to check out the polar bear one.

Ever wonder what it would be like to shoot fashion novel covers?

Yesterday I also made a checklist of sorts for stuff to buy and do before going to Kenya, if it just says a product its something I plan on buying not something I already have…:
